I say BS on the power gains with no tune. Plus how exactly is that pulling in air from outside of the engine bay. It's blocking incoming air flow with the heat shield.

not sure, I posted in their thread at SVTP asking for before and after dyno graphs plus what the gains would be with a tune.

If its increasing airflow how can it not need a tune?

That would make it run too lean.

I know Bullitt and 10/11 GT have "adaptive spark ignition" for different octane fuel, but the stock Bullitt FRPP CAI required a factory tune compared to 08 GT that had the stock airbox.

Maybe the 11 has a wider scale for rich/lean?

Here is their reply to my question on SVTP.

We will be posting the most recent chassis dyno graph and a video to the MMR website in the upcoming week. The two test vehicles have picked up 14 (auto) and 21HP (manual), we expect these gains to be greater with a tuner but we have not yet tested them. Our primary goal was to make a kit that did not require a tuner, especially since they are not available just yet.

Kinda low on the HP numbers; especially when 5.4's are getting 40+. But that is with a tune...

Don't believe it. I think I'll wait for the Steeda at that price.

That thing just doesn't look right to me, way too tight of a turn in the tube right at the throttle body.

Why, with all the room there is in front between the throttle body and radiator would they make it with such a tight turn???

And I bet there HP increase comes solely from the higher flowing filter.

If they didn't make it flow enough to require a tune then it will limit what you can get out of it with a tune seems to me like.

If the MAF housing is left stock diameter, the PCM can adjust fuel trims. But they don't mention the MAF diamater.
