Apparently, the huge appeal of the Shelby nameplate isn’t just limited to Mustangs.

A 1956 F-100 pick-up inspired by the iconic brand sold for a staggering $450,000 at the recent Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, according to a Muscle Mustang Fast Fords report.

The F-100, known as “Snakebit,” was first unveiled by KISS-bassist Gene Simmons and his wife, Shannon Tweed-Simmons at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas. It features a 5.4L V-8 engine with a six-speed manual transmission from a Shelby GT500. The cobra influences don’t stop there.

The menacing looking pick-up, built with the support of Ford, also features a new steel front fascia, headlights and hood designed to look like a Shelby Mustang.

The nearly half a million dollars raised from the auction of the F-100 “Snakebit” will be used to help build a children’s hospital in Saskatchewan.
