S197 Mustang Sporting Camaro Front End Is Nothing Short of ‘Unholy’
Blasphemous concatenation of a Mustang even has the nerve to have an LS3 drivetrain and Camaro interior.
The word blasphemy has roots in the world of religion, where it was once considered a punishable, criminal offense to speak sacrilegiously about anything sacred. These days, blasphemy can be used to describe any sort of insult or contempt toward something considered sacred or inviolable. For us, that applies to iconic cars like the Ford Mustang. There are simply things you just don’t do. Lines you don’t cross. And the owner of this S197 Mustang sporting a 5th-gen Camaro front end violates all of that which we hold sacred.
The Drive discovered this abomination via a Facebook group dedicated to GM’s F-Body cars. A trio of photos were posted by a chap named Jay Prince, and obviously they’ve caused quite the uproar across the internet. We have to admit, the work here is top notch. The Camaro front end actually blends perfectly with the lines of the Mustang, in fact – this is no hack job. But just like our parents taught us, there’s such a thing as right and wrong. And this is just plain wrong.
The origins of this blasphemous machine seemed like a mystery at first. But a little snooping through the comments section reveals some additional information that makes this creation even worse. Someone sporting the username oi8achevy claims to be the owner of this car, sharing another picture and some more info. “It’s not a kit,” he says. “I dissected each car and welded parts back together to create this custom car. It has a 2015 Camaro LS3 drivetrain and interior.”
Then, a user named Lamacchiajf sheds even more light on the situation. “This is a friend of mine’s car. It was originally a 2005 Mustang V6 that he started modifying to do track days. After putting a lot of brake and chassis mods into the car he decided he was ready for more power. He played with the idea of an EcoBoost and a Coyote. But he changed his mind because of the threat of exploding a 4-cylinder when turned up and the cost of a Coyote. Also, a Coyote costs more to build and still ends up making a ton less torque than the LS. You can ask why all day, but the fact is the only true answer is hot rodding.”
Obviously, we’re all about hot rodding. But we’ve never been fans of cross-contaminating one brand with another. Especially when you’re talking about long-running rivals like Ford and Chevy, and the Mustang and Camaro. And while the owner/builder of this blasphemous machine might not have technically committed a crime, he’s still guilty of one seriously profane act!
