Is This the World’s Fastest S550 Manual Mustang?

Anytime you come across a headline that reads the “fastest” anything, it’s worth taking notice. Factor in the fact that the description is being used in reference to a Mustang, and the story becomes that much more interesting.

Take, for example, this post we stumbled upon in a Ford Authority report, which highlights what’s being touted as the “World’s Fastest Manual-Transmission s550 Mustang.” The Mustang GT, owned by Paul Ferdinando, recently clocked a 9.47-second drag time with a trap speed of 149 mph, on an “unopened” motor with a stock MT-82 6-speed manual.

The Mustang itself, however, is far from the traditional stock model. Nope, not stock at all. Ferdinando’s beast actually features a Phase 2 supercharger from the team at Roush Performance. The Mustang also has new injectors, performance headers and an x-pipe, as well as a Nitrous Express kit.
