’68 Pro-Touring ‘Villain’ VS 2015 Mustang GT Ignites Old Debate

Classic Recreations "Villain"

It’s the debate of debates among Mustang lovers: Do you prefer the classic or modern versions of the Ford muscle car?

Well, these days deciding which to opt for is harder than ever, as Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire points out in the /DRIVE video below. The clip features Farah reviewing Classic Recreation’s 1968 “Villain” Pro-Touring Mustang along with a 2015 Ford Mustang GT, and it’s further proof that deciding between a classic Mustang and a new model is a seriously tough call.

The pro-touring Mustang is a contemporary spin on a ’68 Fastback, packed with a lot of the same on-road driving elements that would typically lead many to pick up a 2015 Mustang GT. The Villain also packs about the same amount of power as the new s550.

However, when it comes to price, the new GT shines as the clear winner, given the fact that it’s roughly $100,000 cheaper than the Villain. But as Farah points out, there’s a lot to love about both cars.

Where do you stand?
