There’s a New Orleans Saints fan who’s probably a lot happier than most following the team’s 42 – 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday.

In fact, that fan’s probably a lot happier than just about any football fanatic who shares a passion for Mustangs after winning a restored 1965 model at the game.

The car was raffled off by Team Gleason, an organization started by former Saints’ player, Steve Gleason, devoted to bringing more awareness to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

The ’65 Mustang was passed down to Gleason by his grandfather several years ago.  Members of a local Mustang club and Gus Johnson Ford in Spoken Valley, WA where Gleason played college football came together to restore the car to help bring more awareness to his cause.

Since being diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, the former NFL standout has devoted his life to finding a cure and helping others cope with the terminal neuro-muscular illness.

That said, it’s clear that Saints’ fan isn’t the only one who wins with the Mustang being raffled off considering it was used for such a worthy cause.
