New Mustang Hit With Recall

2015 Ford Mustang Begins Production at Flat Rock Assembly Plant

It seems that no vehicle is immune to the wave of recalls that have become standard modes of operation in the automotive industry. Not even the new Mustang.

Ford is recalling roughly 1,900 of the Ford pony cars in North America due to safety concerns that some restraint parts could have been damaged during shipping from the supplier, prior to installation, according to a CBS Detroit report.

The compliance recall also includes one Mustang in Canada and five in Mexico. All the recalled vehicles were built at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant between September 26, 2015 through October 1, 2015.

The bright spot is that Ford says it hasn’t received reports of any accidents or injuries tied to the restraints. And the company is already quickly moving to make the necessary fixes at Ford dealerships, free of charge.

In addition to the Mustang, Ford has also issued recalls for some models of the Edge, Lincoln MKX, and E-series cutaways due to safety issues.
