One thing’s for certain: you can’t say that Ford isn’t working to keep the momentum going with the S550 Mustang.

As a matter of fact, if you are one of those who jumped at the opportunity to buy one of the new Mustangs when the model first debuted, you might be wishing you would have held out a little bit longer. Sure, there are definitely some benefits that come with being an early adopter, but with the announcement of two more Mustang variants on the way, it’s also clear that there’s great truth to the old adage, “good things come to those who wait.”

One of the first new Mustang variants slated to make its debut is a new Mach 1 model, according to a Mustang News report. The new Mach 1 is expected to pack a little more power than the straight 5.0-liter V8 GT model, thanks to a higher flow exhaust and the potential return of the shaker hood. Also, expect a few extra track enhancements, like a higher-performance tire and wheel package and a tighter suspension than the GT.

However, the biggest performance overhaul will come in the all new GT500 Mustang, which is expected to have an output rating of 700-plus horsepower!

The details are sketchy at best, but most expect the new Mustang variants to go on sale in late 2017 or 2018.
