Some people show off their new baby in touching photos, these Mustang owners showed off their new Eaton M122.

While flipping through Facebook this afternoon, we came across an interesting series of baby photos posted to the social networking site by a couple who owns and loves a 2007 Ford Mustang GT Premium. The key difference for the baby photos of Brayden and Payton Tomicic is that the bundle of joy isn’t actually a baby; it is an Eaton M122 supercharger for their pony car, making for a terrific parody on the mom-and-dad-with-infant photoshoot.

Those photos, shared courtesy of South Valley Photography, show the husband and wife with their adorable little power-adder and it is pure internet gold.

The Announcement

Accompanying these baby photos was the following message:

“So not many of you have known this but it’s finally the right time to post this. The last two years Payton and I have been preparing for this moment and finally the time has come. It’s something i have always wanted but never knew how soon it was going to happen. We have been truly blessed this last year and finally it is here.

We would love to welcome this Supercharger into our household! It is going to be whining a lot but can’t wait for all of the fun.”

For those of you who are not familiar with these types of social media posts, these pictures are generally part of an introduction of a new baby to the parents’ online network. There are always pictures of mom holding the baby with dad behind her and pictures of both parents laying on a bed with the baby between them, both of which are perfectly replicated here with a supercharger for their Mustang.

Upon seeing these pictures, we reached out to Brayden for more information on their photoshoot and the Mustang that will soon play home to this supercharger.

Introducing Our Supercharger

We spoke with Brayden, who explained that he and his wife decided to do this photoshoot as a joke after his mother was applying some pressure as to when she can expect grandchildren. Since the Grabber Orange Mustang GT is his baby, introducing the 2008 GT500 supercharger in this format made perfect sense. We do not know if his mother found this funny, but we think that it is hilarious.

For those wondering, the supercharger is currently being installed with a Department of Boost GT450 kit, and with the current upgrades including Ford Performance camshafts, Tomicic is hoping for 460-480 horsepower when the build is complete. The car will be used for SCCA events and tracking the car at Utah Motorsports campus, having previously been into drag racing until his local track went out of business.

In any case, regardless of the outcome of this build, the Tomicic family has put together a series of pictures that have quickly gone viral, with many car guys and girls around the country proposing similar ideas for their own forced induction engine builds.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
