Mustang 'MACH-X' Is a Striking Retro-futuristic Concept

Sporty reimagination of the classic Mustang Mach 1 is called Mach-X and the styling of this digital render is absolutely immaculate.

Even though we desperately want it to be real, this custom Mustang Mach 1 is a virtual build. Regardless, this virtual rendering is breathtaking, and it deserves your tension because in the past designs like these have inspired real-life modifications. Back in November 2020, we reported on an 800 HP turbocharged widebody BMW 2002, which was also inspired by a rendering done by renowned artist Khyzyl Saleem.

Now, designer Shashank Das has brought us a sporty reimagination of the classic Mustang Mach 1, which Das has dubbed as Mach-X. Shashank describes his creation as a “retro-futuristic” model and the designer’s latest livery brings the entire ensemble together. After a 17-year hiatus, Ford revived its Mach 1 model range earlier last year. The all-new Mustang Mach 1 features Ford’s 5-liter Coyote V8 engine, which produces 480 BHP of power and 420 lb-ft of maximum torque.

For the 2021 Mustang Mach 1, the Blue Oval brand focused its attention on raw performance, which is why the pony car’s engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. A quick scroll through Shashank’s Instagram handle reveals that the designer also wanted to stick to an internal combustion powertrain because the Mach-X gets an aggressive quad-tip exhaust. The exhaust tips are further highlighted by a LED strip that runs across the width of the car and acts as a replacement for the traditional taillight cluster.

The quad-tip exhaust encases Mach 1’s signature pop open gas cap, which along with a pair of hood scoops are clear indicators of Mark-X’s old school underpinnings. The designer opted for a set of Rotiform BUC wheels which are wrapped in Toyo Tires’ Proxes. This is probably the reason why Das went with a widebody style for his creation because a car needs to have chunky fenders to accommodate Rotiform’s huge wheels.

Shashank’s vision is a minimalist design and dispatches with the rear wing of the original Mustang Mach 1. The digital render also Rides much lower than the original sports car and features a substantial splitter that dominates the front-end. The attention to detail on this build is quite immaculate, and the designer even reimagined the galloping Mustang logo. Hopefully, this digital render will inspire someone to will it into reality.
