Legendary Mustang Drag Racer, Stormin’ Norman Gray Passes
The Mustang world lost a great racer and a true pioneer of the Mustang drag racing scene on June 2, 2013. Storimin’ Norman Gray passed at the age of 75 after a long life in the fast lane. Gray was a heavy supporter of Mustang drag racing from the early days where he appeared in the first 5.0 Invitational held by Super Fords Magazine (now 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords Magazine) and helped form the Fun Ford Weekend.
His wicked nitrous huffing Fox-body will also be remembered for its voraciously hard hitting launches and its high-RPM 347. In fact, they were the first team to bust into the 10s in Pro 5.0.
Gray will forever be remembered as a true racer and one that bled blue. God speed, sir.
