What kind of Mustang would you expect an FAA Traffic Controller to own? Well, a fast one for starters, which Todd Rupert’s S197 certainly qualifies as.

The Las Vegas resident’s Race Red 2013 Ford Mustang GT/CS convertible has a best-pass record run of 10.39 seconds, at a little over 133 mph. And he’s already got two championship runs under his belt, as highlighted in a recent Mustang 360 report.

Frank Yee of Voodoo Racing Innovations is credited with most of the performance work on the car, including strengthening the stock 5.0 Coyote powerplant with the addition of Manley rods, JE pistons, custom ground roller cams, and a new crankshaft from Ford racing.

The Mustang also features a D-S1C Stage II ProCharger, an upgraded fuel management system, and a JMS ignition system. In addition, the chassis and suspension system has been upgraded.

Rupert’s Mustang rides on a set of 275/60R-15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials fitted on 15×10 SVE wheels with big Brembo brakes providing the stopping power, which will come in handy as Rupert eyes a 9-second run in the Mustang by the end of the season.

Oh, and the thing’s got snake eyes!
