Is the Mustang GT350R Worth the Extra Cheddar?

In this constant worldwide cat-and-mouse game of building the best sport vehicles, the Americans always seem to have a leg up in the performance-per-dollar department. From the Hellcats to the Z06s to the Shelbys, nothing outside of our country tops the modern American muscle car’s value quotient. But because performance is having a Golden Age right now, there are a ton of choices, even within single bloodlines. A perfect example is whether somebody should buy that Shelby GT350, or spring for the more extensive (and expensive) GT350R package.

Now, remember, the GT350R is a car that Matt Farah called the greatest Mustang of all time. The 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter, flat-plane-crank V8; the carbon fiber wheels; TREMEC 6-speed manual; TORSEN differential; magnetic shocks and 15.5-inch Brembo brakes all work together to make one beautifully vicious machine. Teamwork makes the dream work, right? But is it that much better than the “regular” GT350? We get another opinion on the matter, this time from internet personality Salomondrin. See what he had to say in the video below, and then let us know where you stand.
