The humble steering wheel. It’s where most of the control you have in a car comes from, meaning it’s fairly important to the task of actually driving said car. They come in all shapes and sizes. From round, to square, to round with a flat bottom; each steering wheel is unique to the car it harnesses. With that said, Ford is celebrating the fact that the company has continued to innovate with regards to the steering wheel of the Mustang.

Since 1964, the Mustang’s steering wheel has been the go-to source of freedom for the masses. It was a means of getting away from the humdrum of life and going on an adventure. However, over the years, the steering wheel on the Mustang has evolved drastically — from when it was still a boat-sized wheel in those early cars, to the two-spoke ones from the late 70s and early 80s, up until today’s modern and highly technical, button-infused wheels. All of which represent the power and agility that the Mustang has become known for. But Ford’s new GT350 Mustang steering wheel takes the cake among all Mustang steering wheels.

From the GT350’s steering wheel, you can essentially control every aspect of the car’s performance and dynamics, something that could never have been thought of when the Mustang first entered production. It’s the pinnacle of Ford’s steering wheel technology.
