Mustangs Take Over at Holley's Intergalactic Ford Festival
Mustang owners shredded their rear tires for science at Holley's annual Blue Oval gathering.
Smoke Fest
Despite the fact that most automotive enthusiast events were cancelled over the last several months, we're starting to see more and more push forward with a variety of restrictions. That includes the always-entertaining Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival, which featured quite a few Mustangs shredding their rear tires for an eager crowd, as we can see from Hot Rod's coverage of the event.

Aussie-Style Burnouts
Much to the glee of tire manufacturers, a whole host of Mustang owners threw dollars to the wind and absolutely shredded their rear tires for science and applause. This destruction of rubber included a typical burnout contest, of course, which in this case was done Aussie-style.

Fire Starter
An Australian-style burnout contest is a bit different than the traditional, roll up and smoke 'em sort of deal. In this case, participants are given pretty much free rein of the track, drifting and ripping up the tarmac with extra bonus points awarded for setting things on fire - whether that be the tires, rear bumper, or entire car.

Oval Action
If all of that isn't entertaining enough, YouTuber Cleetus McFarland hosted the Ford Festival 50, in which a fleet of Crown Victorias equipped with nitrous went head-to-head for 50 laps in a quest for domination.

Drift Ballet
One of the coolest parts of the show, however, was a drifting demo put on by pro drivers Chelsea DeNofa and Vaughn Gittin Jr., who masterfully slid their respective Mustang racers around the track, demonstrating some serious skill in the process.

All Skill Levels
But you don't have to be a professional race car driver to show off your skills at Holley's Intergalactic Ford Festival, of course. There was plenty of amateur action on display as well, with Mustangs of every generation showing their stuff off on the track.

Tune In
In addition to all of this sideways action, this year's Ford Fest also offered up some awesome NMRA drag racing, autocross, road racing, a dyno challenge, show 'n shine, and a 3S challenge for the lucky fans in attendance. All of which adds up to an event every Blue Oval fan should circle on their calendar for next year.
