GME Performance's 705 hp Mustang Autobahn Bruiser

The Ford Mustang is no stranger to performance, and neither is Germany. Autobahn experts GME Performance took a legendary American muscle car, and gave it performance to rival the best from Porsche, BMW and Mercedes.

1. GME Performance

Germany is known for having some of the best automotive engineers in the world, and for a long time their sports sedans and coupes have dominated the industry. GME Performance is an aftermarket tuner based there, and they are famous for taking already strong vehicles and making them much more powerful. THree of their recent projects were a C7 Corvette that developed 680-horsepower, a Chevrolet Camaro that produced 620-horsepower, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee that put out 600-horsepower. Now, they've switched their attention to a Ford Mustang GT.

2. 2017 Ford Mustang GT

GME Performance got a hold of a typical 2017 Ford Mustang GT to serve as the core of the project. The Mustang is equipped with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine, which originally developed 416-horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, when delivered from Ford. The German tuner took the Mustang to whole new heights, however, and the American-muscle legend's performance is no longer even in the same category, as you will see.

3. Engine Modifications

The majority of the performance increase comes from an Edelbrock supercharger and intercooler, feeding the V8. To maximize the gains, GME Performance remapped the ECU, as well as modified the fuel system. The engine modifications took the GT to the next level, where it develops 705-horsepower, 289-horsepower more than when it drove into the shop, and 590 pound-feet of torque . The coolest feature? Whoever gets this Mustang will get the freedom of choosing one of four exhaust volumes using a remote control inside the cabin.

4. Wheels, Tires, Brakes, and Suspensions

GME Performance couldn't drive a Mustang producing 705-horsepower without tightening up some other critical areas. The company equipped the GT with adjustable suspension and lowered the height of the vehicle both front and rear. This beast now sits on a set of 21-inch FS-Line alloy wheels, which are lighter and wider than the stock Mustang wheels. Finally, GME Performance used their own design floating braking system, which helps the brakes work longer with less heat fade under extreme conditions.

5. Exterior Modifications

On the outside, the stock grille was replaced with a gaping open mouth look which helps get more air into the engine bay where the supercharger and the intercooler are heating things up. The front is equipped with a lower apron and the rear has a new spoiler, which help keep the GT grounded when it's putting the 705-horses to work making speed. If you're wondering how fast a 705-horsepower Mustang GT, it can reach 62 mph from a stop in only 3.9 seconds, and it should top out at 174 mph. Check out everything GME Performance does HERE.
