Carbon Fiber Bodied 840HP EV Mustang a True Work of Art
Aviar gives us our first look at its very first carbon body produced for the forthcoming R67.
Coming to Life
It's been a while since we were first introduced to the idea of a carbon fiber bodied, all-electric Mustang from a Russian company called Aviar Motors. But at the time, all they had to offer were renderings and ideas. Now, they've actually put together their first body, and it's a true work of art.

Counter Balance
The R67, as it's called, is based on the 1967 Ford Mustang, but gives the car a thoroughly modern take on pretty much everything else. That includes its construction. Aside from the carbon fiber body, the chassis is produced from a mix of aluminum and carbon, all of which makes it light enough to compensate for the added weight of the battery.

Plenty of Power
Since the R67 is powered by the same electric motors and battery from the Tesla Model S Performance, it also features the front and rear subframes from that car to make this an easy swap. It also provides the car with a whopping 840 horsepower, which gives it some truly blistering performance figures.

Solid Numbers
Completing a 0-60 mph run takes a mere 2.2 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the Model S Performance. That reduction can certainly be attributed to the R67's weight savings. Meanwhile, it'll reach a top speed of 155 mph and go 315 miles on a full charge, which is a pretty solid number itself.

Modern Amenities
The Model S also has a big influence on the interior of the R67, which features the EV's giant touchscreen, along with a fully digital instrument cluster, auto-dimming mirrors, keyless entry, Wi-Fi, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated power-adjustable seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Retro Makeover
There are many pie-in-the-sky EV ideas floating around in the world right now, but the R67 is a very feasible idea given its heavy reliance on an existing product. It also just so happens to give one of the world's best EVs a proper retro styling makeover, which we can certainly get behind.

Coming Soon(ish)
It's been two years since we first saw the R67, so the fact that Aviar has built its first body is a major step forward. Now, we can only hope that they finish their grand idea and are able to start selling these works of art sometime in the near future.
