I love the looks of the new Shelby GT350, but I’ve got to be honest – I have a much deeper appreciation for classics like this one.

Then again, I’m guessing most die-hard Mustang fans would.

This Candy Apple Red ’68 Shelby makes one heck of a statement as to why there’s such a longstanding passion for vintage American muscle. The GT350, one of the latest showcase pieces from RK Motors Charlotte, is powered by a 347 cubic inch Ford V8 mated to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission.

Other equipment includes a Currie 9-inch rear axle, a Global West front suspension and upgraded rear suspension, as well as power rack-and-pinion steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.

Inside, the ’68 Shelby has undergone a total makeover with a number of classic Shelby elements like bolstered buckets stretch tight vinyl covers, roll bar, shoulder belts, cobra-branded armrest, and Stewart Warner accessory gauges.

Price? A mere $125,000 as-is. But you already knew that a piece of history like this wouldn’t come cheap.
