Hellcat Challenger Versus Coyote Fox Body Mustang
The Dodge Hellcat Challenger is a ferocious beast. With a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops over 707 tire-shredding horsepower. Last year, when it debuted, the Hellcat was every single publication’s darling. The sound, the menace, everything about it was exciting. Now, after a year of letting the car settle into our collective minds, it doesn’t seem all that exciting any longer. There are new and much more exciting muscle cars coming out, including the new Ford Shelby GT350.
Today we’re here to show you just how not special the Dodge Hellcat Challenger truly is. As you’re about to see in the video below, the Challenger is up against a modified Fox Body Mustang with a new Coyote engine swap and some street legal drag radials.
According to the video’s description, the Mustang’s Coyote engine doesn’t feature any bolt on parts, and remains completely stock. That means it’s putting down around 420-450 horsepower, a full 300 less than the Hellcat. Here’s the kicker though, the Mustang weighs considerably less than the extremely portly Challenger.
While Dominic Torreto of Fast and Furious fame would have you believe that “it doesn’t matter if you win by an inch or win by a mile, winning is winning,” we don’t share that sentiment. So which one wins, click on the video below and find out.
