GT500 First Drive Is a Dream Come True (Video)

There is a very special smile that only the perfect car on the perfect day can provide you with.

We all have that one special car that really resonates with us. It may be the machine that got you interested in cars, it might be the first set of wheels you owned, or maybe it was the horsepower monster on a bedroom poster. Whatever your dream car is, we can all agree that nothing is sweeter than getting the chance behind the wheel of that one special beast.

Recently, YouTuber Nico Marin got the chance to cruise in his current dream machine, a Shelby GT500, and we think the look on his face describes everything we are talking about. That kind of wide, giddy smile is rarely seen on a man’s face. But if anything can make you look happier than a teen at a Bieber concert, a Supercharged V8 and a Cobra badge on the dash can certainly do it.

The video sees Marin meet up with a local Florida man who was kind enough to throw over the keys. For everyone reading and watching, this is why you should talk to people at Cars and Coffee events. From there, things go exactly as you can imagine. The nervousness of being in your dream machine. The worry of stuffing someone else’s car. The sweaty palms and confusion that comes with unfamiliar controls.  Then, of course, the smiles and laughter that come as the V8 barks out through its exhaust. It’s all captured in raw and honest detail.

We’ve said it time and time again, but these are the moments that turn people into gearheads. Don’t waste the chance to make an impact on someone else. And if you know anyone who lusts after a GT500 of their own, make sure to pass this along to them. Give them a vicarious moment of Mustang joy.
