Panhard bar question

Getting some suspension work done on Friday: lowering springs, and front and rear sway bars. I'm on the fence about adding an adjustable panhard bar. How much better steering response should I expect from adding the panhard bar? TIA.

I would guess that you you not notice any change in steering response as the panhard bar is not attached to any steering component.

Now, in all seriousness, I would expect that the feel during cornering would be better, but I don't have any experience here. I would be interested in what others think about it improving cornering feel. It might even be necessary depending on how much your car gets lowered.

It's mostly to center the rear after you lower the car, iirc

Exactly...Your axle will be skewed to the left. If you want consistent handling, it's best to have the axle centered. Mine moved 3/8ths of an inch with a 1" drop.

If you want REAL consistent handling, go with a Watts link.

Woah! The rear will be dropped more than an inch.

Thanks for all the replies.

Than you'll likely need an adjustable PH bar. Measure after the drop to confirm.

Buy mine! Special $80 shipped just for you!

The stiffness of the aftermarket ones also gives a bit better consistency. But as stated above, Watt's is the best!

This. It is almost a must on our car. Mine moved a half inch with my drop.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll be going with the panhard bar. Want to just do it once and do it right. Cheers!

I think you may want to reasrch Watt link and Panard bar to compare the two before you commit.
