Finally I'm done
I finally got done with the exterior of my car over the weekend. Here are some pics of my 06 GT, done up as a 69 Boss 302 tribute.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. BTW, the first picture was taken before I painted my wheels or applied my taillight overlays. I just don't currently have another good picture of the back of the car. Let me know what you guys think and check out my cardomain site if you want.

You have a nice looking car. But two of the most recognizable Boss elements are missing: Shaker hood set-up and Magnum 500 wheels. :worship: Not knocking your car at all. But in my mind, a Boss, real thing or tribute, isn't truly complete without those.
Nice car.
My memory is a little fuzzy on this, but the early Boss had a pale yellow another later Boss had almost brown mustard hue, and the black was typically semi-flat or at least low luster to cut down on hood glare like a race car.
Still a very nice tribute, not meant to be a carbon copy.

LOL, guys I am a dude. That is my girl in the pics. Anyway, for the guy who asked, the hood is painted, I could not find any place that sold a vinyl for the hood.
As far as having a hood scoop and magnum 500s, to be honest, I don't think the Magnums would look good at all on my car, because there just isn't enough chrome in other places. I am planning on getting deep dish Bullitts (at least for the rear) later on.
The hood scoop was not available on Boss 302s in 1969. It was available on the Boss 429 and on the Mach 1, and on the Boss 302 in 1970, but not on the 1969 Boss 302. That being said, I am considering adding a hood scoop later, but only if I can get it to work with my supercharger.
Also, hood pins, color coded mirrors and rear louvers were options.
I painted the hood, spoilers, taillight panel, and wheels a satin black to match the powdercoating on the louvers. This satin black is quite similar to the semi-gloss used on the original bosses.
As far as the body color, the original 69 Boss only came in 4 colors, one of which was Bright Yellow. The 70 Boss came in two hues of yellow, Bright Yellow and Light Ivy Yellow, plus you could special order colors in 1970. I believe that one of the reasons why we see so many cars which look like they are a "pale" yellow, is simply because paint technology wasn't what it is now, and the paint has faded. If they have been repainted, then I don't know what to say, maybe they used the wrong paint code and painted them "Light Ivy Yellow." If a 69 Boss is yellow, it should look like this 69 Boss:

I like the louvers, I've been thinking about putting them on mine and was wondering are they hinged to lift up for cleaning the rear window or are they non movable, and if they are none movable is it hard to clean the rear window.
Robbie.

Very nice car !! I am planning on painting my hood like that as well only in cherry black. I think on Redfire it will look sweet !! I havent decided on the side stripes yet. It looks great on the yellow, but Im not to sure about on Redfire.
Very nice!
You are correct in your comments on the '69 Boss, but it'd kill me not to go ahead and put a shaker on it anyway. I also think that the new 18" Magnums would look awesome, but your wheels certainly look good, too. A supercharger? Wow. Now it's perfect. Great job!
yeah i am actually thinking about finding another hood and putting a shaker on my 69. Its a driver, i am not worried about total originality. But it does have the original vin stamped block in it!!
and thanks for the comment on my second automotive passion.. VW's

When are you planning on installing a supercharger?
