Finally got my GT takeoff parts installed
I've been sitting on a pile of GT takeoff parts from Cascotech for several weeks now, as life conspired to prevent me from getting them installed. Finally managed it over the last couple days. I know this isn't an earth shattering mod, but it sure puts a big grin on my face
Before and after:

Before and after:
the casco kit includes the GT rocker panels also, supposedly they are a bit wider than the one on the v-6. They all snap into place, all i had to do was wire the fogs in and change the light harness on the back bumper.
To do it right you need several parts such as the front lower splash shield for a GT, as well as new front fender liners, not to mention assorted screws and clips. I got all the installation goodies from Kevin on the board (05StangKC)
Yeah the rockers are GT rockers.
Yeah the rockers are GT rockers.

Cool, after a search I found it all.
This is everything right?

Yes you will need additional parts to do a nice job.
Off course you will need the Bumper Cover and the GT Grill plus:
1. Front forward fender liners, otherwise you will have to make small plastic extender as the shape of the GT bumper is slightly different from the V6 (bottom part) Part-no 5R3Z-16102-BA and 5R3Z-16103-BA
2. You will need a new bumper isolator foam, this is because the GT bumper cover doesn't have the license plate indent. Part-no 5R3Z-17C947-BA
3. you will need the valence under the bumper that connects to the radiator core, for some reasons V6 don't have it. I think it's because the bumper cover openning (the bottom hole) is larger on the GT and they don't want thing getting to your radiator. part-no 5R3Z-17626-BA
4. You will need the screws and clips tpo attach the valence. Part-no N801169-S439 and W711274-S439
5. Wiring harness for the fog lights (that one I'm still working on it) ????
6. You will need to transfer the flashers from your old bumper to the new one.
Have fun........

Yep, that list is correct.
If you're doing the rockers you'll also need a new set of the push-in clips that retain the bottom rocker edge (impossible to remove in re-usable form). There are 8 per side if I remember correctly.
For the rear you'll need 1 additional clip for the lower fascia (V6 has two, GT three)
If the GT parts for the front and rear you're using don't have the internal hard plastic supports still attached (this was the case with the set I got from Cascotech) you'll need a drill and bits to remove these from your original bumpers, as well as a pop rivet gun to install them on the new ones.

We are such a strange bunch. Paul's pulling off his black rocker panels to put on painted ones and I'm getting his old ones so I can pull off my painted ones.
Looks great, Paul. Can't wait to get the black ones on!

As long as we're happy, we won't worry about "strange" eh?
I should have the rockers for you packaged tonight and off to the p.o. for a shipping quote tomorrow.

Everything from a GT will fit correctly on a V6. You may have to get some extra pieces, as with the front bumper cover, but it will all fit perfectly. The only excepttion to this is the GT grill. The GT and V6 grills are shaped differently, and the GT grill will not fit correctly in the V6 front facia. (You can make it work, but it isn't perfect.) Also, the V6 grill will not fit perfectly into the GT front facia. However, a GT front facia will fit on a V6, so if you change out the front facia, you can install a GT grill on a V6, or a V6 grill on a GT (if for some reason you wanted to. I guess if you were making a Bullitt clone you'd want to).
Thanks for the clarification. Do they repaint for you or do you have to wait till they get your color? This is exactly the type of mod i want. I love the GT, but I have to drive so much for work, it didn't make sense to just order the GT plus I'm not to interested in the price of insurance. And in all honesty, I don't mind the smaller engine, but I love the look of the GT. I don't think a lot of people notice the difference, but when you own one it is extremely obvious.
The parts from Cascotech are take-offs from Roush conversions, so they are already pre-painted. You just need to get a set that matches your paint color. They're the cheapest I've seen at about $575 from the front bumper/grill/lights, rear bumper, rocker panels and both GT mufflers. That's a pretty decent deal imho.
And the GT parts do seem to get noticed. I've been driving my car in V6 stock trim for about two months, and have gotten plenty of attention (makes the car payments easier to swallow) but have noticed the waves and "thumbs ups" have gone up at least 50% with the new front (the rear has been on for a few weeks).
The differences aren't huge, but the GT skins just seem to have a more macho/tough vibe about them.

Now watch, once I get yours, EVERYONE will have a set they want to sell.
I dunno, I was quite careful on mine and the clips mostly ended up "bald" in the area where they'd need to grip the new rocker. Might be temperature related, maybe on a really hot day they might remove more easily or something
Questions for the guys/gals that replaced thier V6 front bumper with GT from casco..
1. How did you wire the fogs into the existing V6 switch?
2. What was the condition of your bumpers when they arrived?
Thanx in advance...
