I am suppose to be getting a V6 in or around december and i was wondering if it were going to be possible to get the fog lights on it....i really like the look of the lights and would love to have them but find it kinda dumb to get a GT just for some extra headlights, not to mention cost being an issue, but does anyone have any ideas or clues? thanks in advance for your help.

****this is just a guess****

In this case, you'd need a couple things:

-GT Grille with Fog Lights
-wiring harness
-headlight/fog switch with "pull out to turn on fogs" functionallity

I'm pretty sure some GT owners would love to swap out fogs for a V6 grille, although I wouldn't be one of them.

And who knows...ford may come out with a kit like they have for the Sn95....to install Fogs (I did this to my V6, the kit was made for V6s and Bullitts... came with harness, fogs, switch)

I like having fog lights, but I actually like the plainer look of the V-6 without them. I'm hoping there will be some aftermarket covers.

...or I could be like everyone else in southern california and just drive with my fogs turned on all the time...

I personally think the fog lights on the GT look ugly. But can understand the retro look they give,as per say original fastback.Maybe if i do get a GT we could swap for your V6 grill.

On one other minor styleing point...does anyone else think the fake gas cap on back look kinda cheesie? Seeing how real gas cap is on side...

Tom, could not agree more... one reason I am only considering Black, White or Silver (settled on white, for now) for the 05' is b/c of those goofy fog lamps. Tradition be dam-ned, I think it was some major cost-cut to use near if not identical headlights and fog lights.

I mentioned the color b/c I still want a GT and think if I HAVE to have the OEM fogs, they would look neat with some YELLOW headlight (or do I mean fog light, lol?) bulbs. So, from a distance the 05 will look quite cool in those 3 colors with classic style yellow light coming from the center fogs.

I love this yellow lighting effect on some Lexus IS300 models I've seen in my area, but only when the car itself is white or black... silver somewhat...

As for the faux gas cap turned rear bumper logo, I am indifferent. To complete the classic look, I am sure Ford designers tried multiple angles.

Think of it this way: "What would YOU put there?"

I personally can't think of something that looks better, per say, but there's always something the aftermarket will supply.

I think the concept looked great without fogs, but the production model looks much better with them IMO. If I can replace the front grill and bumper with a GTR type aftermarket replacement then I will go without fogs in the grill. Other than that there is no way I would go without the fogs.

I don't know. Isn't the key to the trunk on the fake gas cap? It's a great idea to do that, rather than have a keyhole that's exposed with nothing there, like the car I have now, that the keyhole is all scratched up because I can't see in the dark. I have a trunk release in the cabin, but sometimes, you know, it's quicker to just do it. Oh well.

The trunk release on the remote keychain should take care of that problem. I like the look of the fake gas cap on the back. I like it better than the idea of a big license plate assembly between the tail lights. I really like everything about this car.

Have you looked into the option of the after market front facias? They could have foglights in them. But I may be missing the point if its for looks instead of functionality.
