Tire rotation almost a waste of time for me
After our recent trip I decided to rotate the tires today (front to rear and rear to front) after about 9,000 miles in two years. When I had the tires off and side by side, I could not tell if the rears were more worn then the fronts. They looked the same. I asked my wife to take a look as she has much better eyesight and she could not tell the difference either. I guess these cars are so well balanced now that it really isn't necessary to rotate the tires unless you burn rubber a lot. I certainly don't and I won't be rotating again. It wasn't a total waste of time since they all received a thorough cleaning and wax treatment all around.
It may make a difference with the quality of the tire too but these top of the line Goodyear Exhilarate showed just normal wear.

I always rotate my tires religiously on all my cars every 5k. Funny thing a few years ago my Mustang failed inspection because of tires but it wasn't the rears that failed but the fronts. Obviously I've grown up and not burned off the rears but wore out the fronts driving her how she was designed to take the corners.
