2010-2014 Oem Mustang Stereo Replacement Discussion!
Hello fellow Mustang owners! I am here with another inquiry.
Recently, my 2014 Premium stereo gave out and gave me the blinking clock of death. So I was left with a few different options, buy a brand new OEM one, or a used one for the fourth of the price! So I did just that, and I'm left with an interesting puzzle. So before buying this unit I was completely unaware that the face plate (climate control unit) and stereo unit were different in both base and premium models. The only difference in the CCU is that it's missing the heated seats so I think I should be able to put those in quite easily to the one that I picked up. As for the stereo, I'm having a dilemma. For the stock premium unit, there are 2 extra connectors opposed to the base model stereo. These 2 connectors are fairly small and I don't think they do too much.. one I know for sure is for RPA (Rear Parking Assistance), not sure what the other one is but there are only like 2 wires going into it. With that being said, everything with the new stereo plugs in and works fine, I just have no audio out of bluetooth/radio/anything. I checked amp fuses in the engine bay and SYNC/Audio mute(start) in the passenger compartment and they looked fine to me, even rotated them with good fuses, and still nothing. TLDR; my problem is I replaced my broken premium stereo unit with a base model stereo unit, and I'm not sure if the 2 aforementioned connectors mess up anything to do with my stereo/audio. Very sorry if this is is in the wrong thread or something, I'm new here still! Thank you for any help.

Hi there! Thank you for the documents. I just wanted to give you a visual example of what I'm working with.
The control work great and as intended, I just have no audio and I believe that may be because connector C290B doesn't have a spot in the back for the replacement unit. I'm not very good at electrical work so I apologize if I'm asking a lot. What interested me is that there was only one wire coming out of the pigtail, and that was pin #1.. which was "AUDIO # SUBWOOFER/AMPLIFIER AUDIO +"? I wonder if I have to repin this into another one of the connectors to be able to install it? I'm not sure. But the only 2 connectors that go into this unit that you provided are C290A and C290D. I don't think C290C ever went into the old unit.
