Aero setup done

Finished up the splitter last night. I'm done with aero now, can't wait to go to Palmer and try it out in just over a week!

Everything was fabricated at home.

Wing: 1x1 bi-directional weave CF with reinforced core. 6061-T6 aluminum struts, brackets, and trunk reinforcement

Canards: 1x1 bidirectional weave CF with center reinforced layers

Splitter: 1x1 bidirectional weave base layers with 2x2 twill top layer. Struts are 6061 aluminum (purchase these)

Quite a big project to make and install everything! I'm happy with how it came out. Now for testing time!!

Me too . . . but I'm thinkin' it would be a lot easier to just buy one! LOL

Nice work D, and it was a lot of work, eh? I'm guessing you must be single if you are doing carbon lay-ups in the living room and kitchen?

We want lap times!

It was quite the project to make it... but ~$300 is a LOT cheaper than $1200+ for a CF wing! Mine isn't quite as pretty, but it should be about equivalent in functionality!

Yeah you need one! Just think of the grip

Lap times will be provided soon!

Lots of work, and yes I live alone. GF stays on the weekends, but the "fabrication room" isn't really used much anyways and she supports car activities. Just doesn't care to participate in them

Looking good! I can tell you put a lot of thought into the fabrication. By the way, I get my best work done , while in my socks too! Lol!

Haha the socks were necessary for walking on the vacuum bag... last thing i needed was a bunch of tiny holes from me walking on it! And so comfy too

Monday I finally get to test it all out at a track I know well. Hoping to gain noticeable time... Thinking the R1's will have to make an appearance too

Looking forward to your report! How did you attach your canards to your bumper?

For the moment just 3M rubber tape, which is good for about 2 lbs per inch. I have holes drilled for rivets too but I will likely make one more set of canards before doing a final attachment
