DEALER LIMITED EDITIONS!

I have seen the SDS discussed here, but what about other "limited edition" 2005's offered by dealers? Jerome Duncan in Sterling Heights MI has a "GTLite" Basically a V6 with a dual exhaust and some other lame appearance kits. The worst part is the fact that the word lite is in the font of miller light. Looks very low class.

As a side note, while i was at that lot, there were four guys checking out a LL GT Convert. I think one of the four was buying it. Anyways, they were amazed that the car came with power everything. It was a very interesting conversation between them. It was hard not to laugh.

I've seen thing's simmilar to this. Mostly V6's with fog lights in the grill. They were at a dealership I drive by but I haven't stoped to look. If I do I'll try to get some pics.

Was at the dealership I bought my car having the struts looked at, saw this 05 badged GTS 245 (or somesuch). It had dual exhaust and fogs. Had stripes too I believe. The exhaust tips stuck out a good 4-5inches from the bumper which I thought looked very odd. Anyway assumed it was a GT someone had put decals on. By coincidance, the guy driving it walked over and fired it up...it was a V6. The "dual" exhaust did very little to disguise the sound of the V6. I dunno if he bought it that way or not. I have seen several V6's with fogs and dual exhaust, one even had a duck tail before I saw any companies selling them. Guess the GT look is in, just not enough to go around.

Because out there somewhere is a stinker with absolutely no taste or knowledge of heritage..Most of the dealers as well know nothing of the cars they sell. Especially here in california. I had this guy obivoiusly new to america telling me ME about how cool the car was and what looks good on a american muscle car. I laughed in his face and told him next time you wanna impress an american don't tell him that the exterior apperance package is a special limited edition..lol I 've seen dealers already destroying the looks of the new stang..Hope it's not you who buys one of these pimpmobiles..

Some more info on these things. My experience is in there as well. What a horrid thing to do to new mustangs. The body kits don't fit. The paint doesn't match, and now they're putting on "expensive" tires that look like they belong on a 4X4.

I wish I had snapped some the other day when I was there. If I get the chance I'll take some soon. I bet someone will beat me to it.

Only problem is... when you see them... all you can think about is raking your eyes with your fingers or grabbing the nearest sales associate's pen and stabbing them out just to stop the pain.

Then you realize after you get in your car and drive away that someone would really like to have seen that and you should have gotten some pics. If you see them in person... you'll know what I mean. Heck... I may have the same thing happen AGAIN if I go back for pictures! LOL!

One dealer here tried to actually talk me out of ordering a GT and buy one of these imposters in the showroom. His excuse was,"what do you need all that power for anyway, you'll end up getting ticketed for speeding" I kid you not. Some of these guys have nerve..Unfreakinbelievable :notnice:

Some salespeople think they can tell you what they want. To many people they probably succeed!

The tacky mods don't end with 'stangs, man nothing is spared up here. Half the Hemi trucks have lund nostrils on the hood, and almost every truck has those darn "bend & screw on" steel fender flares.

It figures that nearly every time a newb joins these forums, they resurrect an old thread that hasn't been posted on in over 10+years

Welcome William A, and thanks for posting! . . . even if the thread is 13 years old . . .

We need to welcome the newbies, praise them for coming here instead of FB, never make fun of them or scare them away, or pretty soon there will be only two or three of us left, LOL
