1,000-HP Shelby Mustang Isn't Allowed Near Children

The Shelby 1000 is the ultimate no-compromise Mustang as expected from the late Carroll Shelby's Las Vegas factory.

(doesn't say why it's "not allowed near children" )

Shelby 1000
Until recently, 1,000 hp power levels were unheard of and strictly reserved for all-out race cars. It is amazing how modern engine technology has developed to the point where aftermarket manufacturers offer 1,000 hp cars with a warranty! A prime example of this phenomenon is the Shelby 1000 which is marketed at the ultimate Mustang. The new Shelby 1000 package can be applied to any 2015+ S550 GT as long as you can fork out the $169,995 for the conversion! Shelby only plans on producing 50 Shelby 1000s which will make it extremely desirable when the Barrett Jackson auction comes around in 2050. However, there is a catch! Shelby decided to not compromise on any aspect of performance by not conforming to emissions regulations. Therefore, if you are driving a Shelby 1000, it will have to be "on closed courses only."

And for $170,000 ON TOP of the price of the $40-50k Mustang GT that's the starting point, you'd think they could come up with a way to make it pass emissions.
$200k+ Mustang that you can only drive on the track, and going by Shelby American's recent history of tracking Mustangs, it's probably not even gonna be that good there.

It has 1,000 hp. Kinda awesome to live in a time when I can say "pfft, big deal!" to that.
There are so many 800-900+ rwhp Mustangs out there now, it's nuts!
And they didn't cost their owners $170k to get there.

Oh, but they're missing the 47 Shelby badges and stickers.
That's gotta be worth at least $50k
