Got this thing dirt cheap planning to part it out, but as it is in fairly good original condition, I changed my mind. I plan to fix it up and clean it out a bit and flip it for a profit.
The engine runs smooth and no smoke from the tail pipe
At the moment I only switched wheels between the two cars.
Did some work to it today. Replaced the radiator fan assembly since the factory fan blades were broken and the previous owner did a hack job with them and were no good. Filled up the power steering pump and now that works. I also found out the coolant temperatute sensor is bad.
Got some new parts for it. The water pump with thermostat were bolted in last Thursday. That thing had a nasty grinding noise. And it had no thermostat to begin with. And the upper rad hose since the one it had looked like it got a close encounter with the serpentine belt.
Left power window motor fixed. The little plastic fillers inside the drive gear were turned into dust, so three 10mm nuts were installed in their place. I removed the one on the right to diagnose it for not working, but it got dark and I called it a day, but i will resume tomorrow.
I've been driving it for a while, and even it still has some minor issues, it has been running good. But as an old car, it acted up today and decided not to charge the battery. I'll take a look when I get back home from work. The transmission filter & gasket was ordered, and it needs new plug wires at least. Has been misfiring a bit.
Changed the engine oil & filter, spark plug wires and transmission pan gasket & filter and got all the atf flushed and replaced. Pan had never been out since 1995. Found the original oil dipstick dust plug inside. Next on the to do list is fixing a power steering leak. And figuring out why the a/c won't cool while it's full of refrigerant.
Was going to drive it last Sunday, but noticed the volt gauge fell flat on it's face, so it sat there. The alternatotmr is new, so I doubted it was the cause. The culprit was the stator plug connector. I ordered both the stator and the D shaped plug besides it.
