The new Level 2 Performance Package option for the 2018 Mustang will further bridge the gap between the standard GT model and the track-hardened GT350.

I just did the build and price thing, and a Premium is $48,695, and a standard is $44,495 with the phase 2 performance pack. You have to get the 401A or 301A option to get the phase 2 pack. That's a lot of options I don't want or need, and a price that's going to make me keep my 2013.

yeah this looks like an awesome track and street car and it makes me want one . . . but the price means it will have to wait until my daughter is out of college, and then I'll probably be too old to do the track thing
(I have a young daughter for my age)

Good news! Congrats! Definitely want to see pics when you get it. Did you also get the PPL2 package?

$44k. That's the same price as a '18 Camaro 1SS 1LE, which is reasonable for the level of performance. I just hope that the PPL2 can actually keep up with a 1LE at the very least. Chevy has been winning the track war since 2013, and I hope the PPL2 is the answer.

True on both accounts. My company does a lot of vehicle dynamics work on those and they are are amazing indeed. Hope the S550 can come close.
Which car were you talking about again?

Haha, true. I'm on the Mustang site too, but I have never really warmed up to 15+ looks. Tried and tried and tried but I can't get myself to like it. So I stopped trying and I call 'em like I see 'em. Hope the MY20 re-design makes the car look great again. Till then I'll hold on to my S197. It was love at first sight.

Can someone tell me why Ford takes so long to build an order? Just going into production today with a November order is nuts.
My buddy customer ordered an f80 m3 in December, built in Germany and boated here, then through customs, then trucked to the dealer. He got it last week.

The explanation is clear as mud. First was told dec.4 the ppl2 parts were to be built. Then the ppl2 was to be built along side the Bullitt . Then the sport cups can't be produced or stored because of the cold. Almost wish it would be a 2019 vin. I'm just a regular guy trying to get a car. You know Henry Ford's dream .6 months is a little much. But now I'm close and excited

If the model year bothers you, I'm sure you could cancel your order and reorder when the 2019 books open?
