Headlight switch buttons - use as auxiliary buttons possible?
This may be a horrible/stupid question but here goes anyway.
Anyone ever considered using a 2010-12 headlight switch assembly on a 13-14 for the info/setup/reset buttons to re-purpose them using your own wiring/relays etc? I guess they would be momentary switches? is that at all possible? Almost like how ford gives the s550 those auxiliary switches for whatever anyone wants to use them for?
I have a 2011-12 switch to sell but wanted to make sure i shouldnt just keep it. While googling to make sure only the 11-12's had those buttons (aside from 13-14 gt500 having launch control buttons instead) i found a few pics of 2013 gt's with those buttons which confused me since i thought only gt500's had buttons there for 13-14.
Would be pretty cool to be able to add those and wiring up anything that a momentary switch or button would be necessary for. Then if that were possible, I'd want to find a way to reprint/paint the button so it wouldnt say setup/reset/info anymore haha.
An example shown below from a gt500 headlight switch assembly, these are the kind buttons I'm talking about. If anyone has a pinout for those set of buttons that would also be awesome!

I am considering putting in the side pipes for a Boss in my car and have the electronic cutouts. I thought of re purposing the buttons for opening and closing the cutouts, but haven't given't it much thought beyond that. They buttons certainly could be used for other purposes.

exhaust cutouts were the first reasoning behind what i want to repurpose the buttons for!
I just need to find a diagram so I dont mess up the buttons.
Since those buttons are physically independent from the rest of the assembly, I assume the power to them are also independent.

I will see if I can find a part number on the connector.
I would also sand and repaint the buttons and have a laser engraving place laser etch new symbols on the buttons.
Make sure you post a how to!

But then this last weekend i put myself in further debt for my gf's birthday.
so just trying to make plans for some future mods I want to do.
using one of those buttons as a line lock momentary switch would be awesome too!

First I want to say that yes, I considered this too, and for the same reason (exhaust cutouts for Boss pipes).
I never figured it out because after installing the pipes I decided it sounds fine even with the restrictor plate removed...

Thanks!
Could be a bit harder than I hoped since it works like this.
all 3 buttons tied to pin 5, maybe i can take the switch apart, build a small circuit board with individual momentary push buttons to go behind the illuminated original buttons.
