^ neat idea, but no thanks.
Nothing comes into contact with my car's paint, except the soft, lush, clean, and lint free Microfiber towels.
Nylon, or god forbid - Chains, is a major no-no, at least for me. To each their own.
My key simply resides in the cupholder in a plastic tiny bag to eliminate rattling.

The intention was to have the cap and the key stored somewhere when not in use.
I only put the cap in when i have to leave the car f.ex. in a parking lot.
Normally i go without it.
