My poor Stang
This past Monday, my 2012 MCA edition Mustang with only 22k on the odometer and not a single blemish anywhere was involved in an accident. My 8 year only daughter and I were stopped by the Caruso grandmother guard near the entrance to her school. A Honda lost control, hit the crossing guards F-150, ripping off the front wheel, went up on two wheels, skidded behind the truck and broadsided our car. Glass and car parts flew into the interior. Fortunately my daughter and I were unhurt. My Mustang did it's job and kept us safe. My car insurance company at first indicated the car was totaled, then came back saying it was repairable with used parts. I'm going to fight this. My car was in perfect condition before the crash. To repair this, they're going to have to replace the whole drivers side of the car. I won't let them turn my girl into the bride of Frankenstein. As much as I love that car, I know it would never be the same.

Sad to see this but glad everyone is OK. You must have a 'crap' insurance company to tell you they are going to fix your Mustang with 'used parts'. I want to say some bad words but didn't

Yeah don't let them get away with that used parts crap. OEM or total it out. They'll salvage title it to some guy who will rebuild it but you're right, it won't be the same. Nice car too.

Unfortunately with insurance this is common place. I price match OEM parts whenever possible at my Dealership. But we get insurance companies requesting used and aftermarket on 15 MY cars frequently. Will be on the 16 MY soon since we are seeing 17 cars roll in. If the general public new what insurance tries to get away with they would be MAD! And insurance companies throw so much money around our law makers it will likely never change. Sorry to hear about your ride!

So sorry, but like others have said, I'm glad you are all ok. The Mustang did its job protecting you and your daughter. I hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction. It sure was a beautiful mustang. I love that first picture!

That sucks, too many bad and careless drivers on the road. The car is not bad enough to be totaled, just door and fenders need to be replaced and maybe abit of pillar pull on the frame machine should be new. Definitely fight it have it done using new parts, thats why we got insurance.

Now when I think back, in 2014 my wife curbed a wheel on our 2014 Edge Limited with only 1,200 miles on it. Our insurance company said they will look for a used wheel first. They couldn't find a used 20 inch chrome wheel so they had to order a new one from Ford, cost something like $1,100

Well, I decided not to wait for the insurance co to figure things out. As particular as I've been with my 6, I know I'd never be happy with the repair no matter how well done it was. Picked up a 2017 GT premium manual with performance pack yesterday. I'm still bummed about my 6, but this is helping to ease the pain!
