Would old school Magnum 500 wheels look right on a modern Mustang?

So the old Magnum 500's are my favorite wheels. I have a '98 GT currently. Would a set of 15" Magnum 500's look good on a newer Mustang like mine? Right now I have 17" SVT wheels on 245/45/17 tires. Would the old Magnum 500's even fit? Anybody ever seen this or tried it?

No, not the old school steel ones.

Although nothing's *impossible*, the clearances on those wheels is not going to work for your car. They sit to far in on the offset, so the suspension is a potential issue, but they'll not look right, even with spacers.

They have a really deep trench for the tire, so the brakes won't clear.

Finally, they're heavier, so you'd have more steering effort, and more unsprung weight, which will make the car not handle as well on top of all the other crap.

You need to keep them SVTs, buddy.

Now, if you were to get these:

You'd be closer to being ok, HOWEVER... you'd still need about 20MM of spacers, which means longer studs, and probably the hubcentric spacer on top of it all.

I would have said just get these:

(Note, I don't know what's going on here, but take the two spaces before and after the . to make the link and paste it in. If you put it together, it goes some broken attachment thing in here. Goofy forums.)

But they don't make 'em anymore or something.

Hope that helps!

Man, those ones on CJ Pony Parts look amazing. Super tempting to get them! I already have 1" hub centric spacers on my rear wheels to get rid of that stupid tucked in look all the 94-04 Mustangs have.

Look at the wheels made for the 03 mach 1. They were design to look like the old magnums.

I do like those wheels, but they're not as good as the actual Magnum 500's.

The 18" ones look pretty good, in my opinion . . .

The 18" look great on the SN95, but I agree....nothing beats the look of an original style Magnum 500. Every manufacturer had a version of that wheel in the late 60's and 70's...including AMC.
