Trying to stick to the thread topic, I turned 75 a few weeks back and got my '14 on 2/28/13 - my first Mustang (and first domestic car in over 40 years) but not my first Ford.

Well I'm 68 and I still love my 05 GT that I ordered new ten years ago. My first car was a 1960 Chevy Impala convertible. White with the hounds tooth turquoise interior. Had a lot of fun back then. Got it in 66 when I was 19.

I am 70, with the 2015 EB. And, as far as the OP goes, age really does't matter. He may be mature beyond his years. And, his parents may know that and trust him.

When I was 17, the Air Force gave me a badge and a gun, and told me to enforce the law.

For the OP: enjoy the ride and disregard the naysayers. Just remember, with a car like that comes responsibility for those that ride with you. Always get them home safe.

I am 71 (4 days from today) and currently own a 2015 5.0 GT Premium. My previous Mustangs were 1997 V6, 2000 V6, 2004 GT Premium, 2004 V6 (wife's car), 2012 GT Premium, 2012 V6 (wife's car), and I loved them all...even the 150hp 1997 V6. My current GT is Race Red Auto, 401A interior, 20" wheel/tire package/ Steeda F/R adjustable sway bars, dressed engine bay, window tint (legal only), and more plans on the way. Age is a number and my number actually equals about 35 or so.

I was 16 when I got my first, a '57 Chevy 210 2dr sedan, 283 w Powerglide.
Fastest '57 on the block it was. It did get a 4 speed transfusion.

I'm 61 now, the '57 is long ago history and so many others have come and gone as well, both personal and professional.
Current vehs. are a 1977 F150 4X4, 1992 Tbird Sport, 1995 Tbird LX, 2001 Merc GM, 2003 Subaru, 2007 F-150 FX4, 2008 Mustang GT, GoldWing Bike, GoldWing Trike, Triumph Trident, & WheelHorse.

This is my 300th post here.

Last month I could file for Social Security but I'm not. In 2 days I'll have had my 2013 GT in Grabber Blue for 2 full years. Third Mustang I've been part of. My wife brought a 79 V-6 in Dark Jade Metallic into the marriage. Had a 67 with a 200ci straight 6 that my older son drove in high school, and my current one. Now if you count the Mustangs I drove at work, you know-the white and black ones-the count goes up substantially.

Yeah ...... had some of those too, except ours were not quite so well "marked". They were "SEVs" (selective enforcement vehicles) which were primarily aimed at the "professional customer". Some fun times.

66 going on 67. First Mustang; 2013 V6 Premium/Pony with standard shift. Just a fun car. Family has other Fords 12 focus; 08 Focus; 06 Freestar. The old mini van does all the heavy lifting; Numerous College moves, scores of bags of top soil, lumber, machinery transport, and when new transport of lots of kids.

What I will say is thank goodness for extended warranties.

I had one of those, too. All white. Our term was SMPV (Specially Marked Patrol Vehicle) meaning minimally marked. Typical government double speak.
It looked just like this one.

Allegedly for commercial vehicle enforcement (at least that's what the Federal grant application said). But when a guy goes by you at 90mph, back when 55 was the national speed limit, what are you supposed to do?

tripleblack; I hail from Union County. I do have friends that live in Rockaway. Near a lake.

Nice area.... Unfortunately too rich for us. I do take my Mustang for rides to "The Great Swamp", and Jockey Hollow on nice days. Not Rockaway, but up North.

at 52, not the oldest for sure, but starting to feel older...

we have a mess of vehicles-
65 Galaxie 500 LTD 4 door hardtop 289-2v

a upside down 69 fastback- was a 302-2v, gonna be 429-but been saying that since tearing it apart in '84

2000 and 2002 mercury marquis- twins, but the '00 is scrapyard bound soon, doubt I'll get another winter out of the poor thing...shame as its a great runner/driver, just rotted out...the 02 is a southern car I cant bear to salt just yet- mint underneath...

2006 mustang gt
2007 avalanche(wifes)
2007 mustang pony v6(wifes)
2009 mustang gt

oldest son has a 97 expedition, and a 90 mark VII
2nd oldest son has a 97 ranger

except for the one chevy(gotta admit its been a good vehicle) weve always leaned ford... but with the hoods on the three mustangs failing, and all the crappy paint ive seen at the last three auto shows, highly doubt i'll ever buy another new ford...chevy trucks have wavy quarters- but decent paint, Ram looks well assembled/painted- but still a mopar maybe from now on just restore used ones- cheaper and you know what you got when done... the lack of concern over paint has just completely soured me on Ford- the pics daily of newer mustangs still bubbling up, the horrid flaws at the auto shows, the defects at the dealers I saw on the f150s, maybe ford will straighten it out eventually- but moreso, seeing all these loyal ford buyers have their pride and joy mustangs shedding paint a 3 yrs, and ford trying to thumb noses at a decades worth of loyal buyers... I just do not want t give them another cent of my wages... if we all worked with the same attitude as ford corporate, we'd all be unemployed... just a shame they have pumped out defective paint knowingly for so long... biggest shame is they could care less if customers are getting stuck for it. I hate lawyers, but hope they do get a class action- they deserve it, not that it would help us any...just make more rich lawyers

So my first car in 74 was a 70 Roadrunner which I still own. I didn't kill myself in it, but I did have my share of close calls! I think the one thing that saved my behind was that I paid for 100% of the car and all the HP upgrades which were many. I was too worried about ruining my car which I paid for with my $1.65/hr kitchen job. I had 'friends' who were given brand new Trans Ams & z28's and to a person they beat the hell out of those cars with one splitting a 77 Trans Am in half immediately behind the bucket seats thanks to a hitting a huge Oak tree going sideways at 100+ mph. If you're paying half and the money is coming from a real job outside the home, not your weekly allowance, then you'll probably have enough invested in it so save both you & it.

If that's you in the pic, you didn't waste any time getting it on the track! Are you autocrossing or doing a track day somewhere? I'm thinking about doing the same with my 14 GT/CS convertible, but can only do autocross as most tracks around here require rollover protection (i.e. Roll Bar) for convertibles. I've looked into rollbars but decided against it for now. Wherever you are, it looks like you're having fun!
