They go on there in the morning then we go around the neighborhood around 4 and then they go back on the treadmill before bed

 

this might be a way I can get a husky after all!

 

I wouldn't Jason, not in SoCal. With that coat, and the socal temps, they'll be dying of heat. I love them too, but they're really a dog for a northern climate.

 

I'm worried about that too. But I see people with Huskies around here almost daily. It's pretty common. I also heard their fur helps to cool them too

 

I wouldn't worry about SoCal climate for a husky. It'll be fine. But if you live in an apartment I'd still get a Klee Kai. Smaller messes, less fur, smaller poops haha!

My only worry is not having the time to walk the dog properly.

Maverick as a puppy...





Maverick's mother, Oreo. She's a show dog and the breeder wasn't breeding or showing her any more, so she was given to my cousin by the breeder.

 

That second pic is the sweetest pup pic I've seen. However, I don't think they could make it down here with the weather we have. Its just too damned hot and humid for a dog like that.

 

They just gave her away because they weren't making money off her anymore? That's so sad.

No, it's not like that. The breeder raises show dogs. After the dogs are retired from doing shows, they are bred. After a few litters the dog is fixed and retired from breeding since it's not healthy for a dog to raise too many litters. The breeder then finds a suitable home to adopt the dog. In this case, my cousin adopted Oreo and he now has mother and son.

I'm sure this is not the case with all breeders, but this is one of the good ones!
