Got hit by a car when he was little, this was prior to me adopting him.

Probably gets around just as good as a dog on 4 legs.

shurtual86 1/27/13 04:24 PM

Yup, runs around just fine, only difficulty he has is backing up fast.

re: missing things...

My mom and dad have a double dapple mini-dachshund, and they are known to have this or that birth defect, because the double dapple is way recessive genetically... and purebreds, don'tcha know.

So anyway, he was on the 'discard' option list because he's a beautiful dog, but his obvious defect is he has his left eye that is not developed. It's there, just... not. Mom and dad happened to find him first, and it was good for all.

He doesn't know he has just the one working eye. He just runs around, occasionally bumps into things if he's speeding about, but is just fine and adjusted. It's cool to watch him walk about, he 'leads' with his right side of his face. SO cute.

So three legs isn't a biggie either. Heck, two legs isn't in some cases. There's a dog who walks like a human on youtube, no fronts, and it doesn't care, off it runs around.. Ah, here we go:

Here's Buddy, by the way:

He really loves to sing, but he hasn't had his morning coffee... and dad is gonna get this on tape this time, so... :)

Been reading up on dog training techniques. Crate training/postive reinforcement/clickers etc. So many various schools of thought whent it comes to training them! Jeez!

Yup, every dog is different and require different methods of training. The owner also plays a factor in training.

Why don't they just come with an instruction manual?
