Have you tried any of that Blue cat food? Holy crap Max loves that stuff! I had tried Science Diet and a couple of others and he'll practically turn his nose up at all of it now. He'll go over to that bag of Blue, sit there and meow and paw at it til you give him that, lol. Its kind of high, but he loves it and hes extremely healthy, shiny coat, muscular, active, etc. so it must be good for him.

Its made with real meat, grains etc. instead of by-products and crap.

I don't know if it gives mine the ****s or not, he ****s outside like an animal should.

It is expensive, but I've always tried to give my pets good stuff, I think its healthier and better for them, and I want them around for as long as possible so I'll splurge a little for them. But I was shocked at how much pet food had went up, I haven't had one in quite a few years. I bought an 11lb bag of the Blue Wilderness salmon and it was $38. But it lasts a long time, he only gets a 1/2 cup a day which is a little over 2 oz. So that bag will last about 80 days, so that works out to less than .50 cents a day. I can afford that I think, lol.

 

That's cheaper than eating three $0.52 cans a day. She only eats canned though.

 

The vet told me to only give him a half cup a day of the Blue. He said it was so rich and fatty that Max would swell up and get fat as hell, even as active as he is outside if I gave him more.

I haven't given him any wet food, only dry food. We do give him table scraps from time to time when we have salmon, and we have given him pieces of hamhock when I make beans which he loves.

 

I am going to try that Blue "gentle stomach(?)" food on my Ragdoll. Tired of cleaning up cat food barf. Thanks Lee

 

carful with the wet food. if you feed a cat a lot of can food it will mess with their blood sugar and cause weight issues.

Male cats that have been fixed often get UTI's. Not so much in females due to the different plumbing. The ash and additives they put in dry and wet food cause stones which cause pain and discomfort and can lead to UTI's/blockages.

 

I had some of that Science Diet left and I gave it to Max recently. He reluctantly ate it, and the proceeded to barf it all up on the porch when he went out. He ****ing loves this Blue dry food. Goes crazy for it. I've only given him the salmon, not sure about the others.

Its little hard pellets, but when you open the bag it literally smells like you cut a salmon open. Its overpowering. He goes crazy for it. Like I said, the vet recommended it, but also said to be sparing with it because they will get really fat and over weight if you over feed them this stuff because its so rich. I can be a little more generous with mine because he stays in and out both and is so wild and active. He hunts constantly when he is out, never seen a cat run and play like he does when he is in. He is a ****ing lunatic, goes crazy when playing with his toys and stuff in the house.

 

Always gave my cats the Science Diet never heard of the blue catfood?

 

blue is a super premium high end that came out about a year ago. Its really good stuff. Its better then the food you get at McDonalds.
