Had a guy drive up next to me in a black camaro on the way home from the suspension install; he rolls the window down, asks me to do the same, and says, "is that a real Shelby?" I said, "If by real you mean I could smoke you with about 1/4 throttle, then yes, it's a real Shelby." He then says, nice car, too bad it's wet outside, I'd take you," to which his girl in the passenger seat rolls her eyes and says, "he would totally fry your eggs."
Haven't heard that one before. She looked over at me and I winked as I rolled the window up. Wore that smile the entire 45 minutes through traffic.

My only thought is that he believed it was a GT with fake badging. The girl clearly thought it was real, and I'm guessing the exhaust note alerted him to the fact that it was no ordinary GT once I pulled off from a stop. I may not have raced him, but I'm sure he'll be thinking about my car and his girl's reaction all night.
