Nearby ranches over by the Fort even have cattle drives down the road that you have to wait for. They move cattle to follow the grass - Red Bluff NorCal area in the winter, up here in the summer. Apparently the 'free' grass offsets fuel cost. Moo!

I see them all the time, multiple times a week. Lot of people around my area have big chicken houses, several of my friends do. Lot of Koch Foods (those evil rich Koch brothers) work trucks running around as well. Liberal's head's would explode, lol.

I wonder if they transport them like that to get rid of some of the feathers before processing.

Maybe they got tired of trying to fight the draft from the speed they're moving.

Nah, they just get as many as they can on a truck. The truck shows up already loaded with empty crates at your chicken house and they unload the crates with a fork lift. Then a van full of Mexicans show up, they go in and catch the chickens 10 at a time, holding 5 in each hand by the feet and stuff them in the crates. Then they load the crates back up on the flatbed, and take them straight to the processing plant. They aren't on the truck for very long before they meet their maker and are on their way to your table.
