I love pecans.

 

Some of my favorite things have pecans in them. Pancakes, waffles, red velvet cake, sweet potato casserole with the glazed pecan topping, butter pecan ice cream, etc. Heck, just a bag of fresh Georgia pecans and a nut cracker is fine with me.

 

A restaurant friend went to Chef Paul's seminar in NOLA.
He opened by asking if they knew the difference between pe-can' (northern pronunciation) pie, and pe'-can (southern) pie?
The answer is pecan pie is made from nuts from the pecan tree. Peecan pie is made from nuts from the pee can under the bed.

So I favor walnuts.
