The lady from the sanctuary said this type of bat should be in hibernation and that the crazy weather is wreaking havoc causing them to wake up way too early.

You have to be a member of Bat Conservation International to go to the Bracken Cave. They have member nights so you can go see the bats emerge. They also have a special night where you stay all night and watch them come home to roost as well. I would love to do that.

That does sound pretty cool. I took mammalogy in college and it was cool learning about all the bats. We had to be able to identify A lot of different ones. Too bad we don't have flying foxes here. Those are pretty sweet

I haven't reset the mpg meter in the 500 in at least 1000 miles and it at about 15.5 right now. :heh: When I'm cruising around on the two lane back roads around here (which is most of the time) I keep it in 4th gear because I like the way if feels. Gas mileage would go up a lot if I'd put it in 6th, but I don't give a ****. I don't like the feeling of it lugging along, I keep it in 4th because I can step on it and the torque will set you back in the seat. Screw Algore. :jester:

Yeah, your weather man must be on the pipe. :p

Yeah, I need to make up some bumper stickers that say "F%&$ Al Gore AND your Prius"

I don't see as many around here the last few years as I used to. There would be tons of them swarming around at sundown eating bugs, now you only see a few.

I think that White Nose Syndrome might have something to do with it, they've found some that have it in caves in the region.

I know we need them but I hate Bats....mostly because they would always dive bomb the pool when I was trying to swim at night. It's especially distracting when you have a date in the pool and the bats freak her out....really puts a cramp on skinny dipping :p

I love bats... I think they are cute.

Sad y'all don't have many

Someone has to....:p

We used to get San Antonio nightly news here when I was a kid. Sometimes when they did the nugget weather the radar would show the bats and they'd say never mind that its not rain clouds it's the bats leaving the cave.

So the Bat Cave is in Texas? Mystery Solved! :p

I'd like to see that cave in Texas where all the bats fly out of. I saw it on some tv show.

Edit: This one.

Ewww....we went in a cave in Aruba that had hundreds of those creepy little buggers. I am not a fan of them.

you bet .. i sold it for 700 bucks and bought a 440 six pac super bee .. i may be wrong about all shaker hood cars being r code drag pac cars . i have`nt talked about such things in so long .. i do know that a shaker hood could even be had with a 351 windsor ..

Yes, the shaker wasn't specific to the big blocks. I have a '69 Mach 1, 351 4V, automatic, factory A/C with factory Shaker. White with red interior. That's the way it came anyway...it's a basket case project at this point.
