Hideaway License Plate Holders

Hi all,

It looks like the Posse isn’t going to leave me alone here in Minnesota until I put the front plate on my car. Does anybody have experience with the “Hideaway plate brackets” on the market and if so, which are the best? Looking for opinions.

Thanks,
John

have you received a fine? or are they just stopping you and giving you a lecture about not having one? if you aren't getting fined and it isn't a law requirement in your state, don't worry about it.

I think Minnesota requires 2 plates. I would think if the cops document their warnings then eventually they'll see duplicate warnings and a ticket will soon follow.

I see. If it requires two plates, I'm sure that hiding the front plate would be just the same.

I know that I'd definitely get fined if my front plates were hidden and not visible at ALL times while on the road.

Hell - i got nailed hard by a lovely police officer. She pulled me over and asked me where my plate sticker was.... I looked at the back, looked at the front and it was at the front!

i had my doors and bumpers painted around that time and the plates must have been put on backwards and i STILL got nailed

nice to see that warnings are being given out IF its a requirement.

Yeh, we have a front plate law in MN. The one on e-bay would work fine but I would prefer a non-motorized version. I'm happy if I can just hide it while parked at a cruise or show otherwise it needs to be seen.

No tickets yet but nearly. Got the stink-eye from Barney and before he could get turned around and stop me I was already in my garage and parked. I'm quite certain I'm a marked man now. It's not like there are a lot of black Mustang GT's with bright red stripes in our itty bitty town.

There's a manual one on American muscle... I need to order one, since I got stopped in my escape for not having one, I can only imagine it won't be long in the car.

P.s. the secret to not getting tickets is to date a cop, lol

The Sto n Sho has worked well for me. I've had it for a few months. I thought I'd take it off and put it on often but I usually just leave it on. I didn't want to drill holes for a plate and don't really mind how it looks with it on being lower and all.

I see! yeah, that makes logical sense. i was thinking that your intentions were to just flip it up when a cop pulled you over. it would seem redundant being it as you would have been driving around plateless technically in the front.

That would be pretty cool to just hide it while stopped at a show or something.

You have to be really mindful of steep angle driveways, sloped ramps, and speed bumps with this product. I already trashed one and had to replace a front license plate after it hit the pavement and bent down on the road. I replaced it and now drive more carefully.

Also think twice about driving over road kill, this hangs so low you could easily snag anything bigger than a chipmunk...

Thanks for the input all. The Sto and Sho looks like the ticket, or should I say ticket avoidance system I was looking for and the price is right! Hopefuly I can make it work with the Roush splitter.
