I would stay away from any oil additives. Not necessary with modern oil technology. If you are using any API SM rated oil (dino or synthetic), no need for additives. Regular oil changes and any decent quality oil = your engine will outlive the rest of the car.

I've seen it too, it is decieving. Now if they had that display heated up to about 200F, and made of metal gears under about 1000psi pressure...

theedge is right, oil additives are useless, use good oil and change regurlarly is all you need, if you are real concerned about it use synthetic, I do.

I'm still using up all the free oil I got from O'Reilly's after rebate. I see they are running another free after rebate offer now. QAdvanced and Valvoline SynPower full synthetics are both free after rebate. 5W30 only, but they will work just fine, I promise. www.oreillyauto.com

I may be overly paranoid about it, but I think I will stick with 5w20, i used to run 5w30 in my 02 stang and never had any issues, I seem to be more protective of my 05 lol

5-20 is just fine (obviously, Ford recommends it). I'm just saying that there is nothing to be afraid of with 5-30. It really isn't that much thicker at operating temps, and will only reduce your mpg by maybe .2-.3mpg.

There have been many engines, the 4.6 included, that were back-spec'd for 5-20 after the manufacturer recommended 5-30 for many years.

I used to sell alot of lucas additives to loggers and truck drivers when I worked at NAPA alot of people swore by it. But in my stang I just use good clean syn oil and quality filters.

I use the Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube in my fuel. I've used it in the Crown Vic for several thousand miles without any adverse effects.

Check out Bob the Oil Guy's web site, he has a feature on Lucas oil stabilizer, based on his tests and info, I'm not really a fan of it, the upper engine lubricant on the otherhand, I like very well.

Just use the Motorcraft synth blend 5W20 or a reputable full synthetic.

The cheapest 5W-20 you can find will be a semi-synthetic. The specification pretty much requires that it be a semi-synthetic, just like Mercon-V.

With respect to API SM and ILSAC GF-4 requirements, even the dino oils are performing more and more like Group III synthetics.

I Love the BG Products! Used & Sold it For Years At Various Ford Dealerships I Worked At! The MOA is a Great Additive I Used For My Older High Milage Pushrod Motors and I Also Like in My Supercharged Harley F-150. These Trucks Have Notorious Blowby & Get Timing Chain Start Up Noise & Moa Seems to Help!

Oh And The 44K is a Great Fuel Additive!
