I'm wondering what if the new mustang design came before the fusion. Would that change people opinion? IMO fusion is a nice looking car. But it does suck it's now giving the stang a bad rep. Wonder if it had been the opposite, would people be calling the car(the fusion) the 4 door mustang? and hence some be pissed calling it a fake mustang, and other delighted to Have a cool looking sedan?

If only we had a time machine..

If the headlights were like these, IMHO , I would buy her. Plus in black she really looks sinister.

Yeah the triple DRL inboard of the HIDs are not appealing.

After seeing the new 2015, the Fusion, and some other late model designs, I have to wonder what happened to the concept of bumpers. While bumpers have been covered with a body colored façade for years, at least they did project outward to protect the grill and other body parts. With this 2015 design, it looks like a 3 mph bump into a wall would damage much of the front end, perhaps even the hood. What is the thinking here?

Because hitting someone going 80mph will make a difference with that silly law.

Am I right ! ?

Kinda like getting your favorite jacket on Christmas...meanwhile you're wearing it. You're grateful but wished someone wouldn't have played it safe.

Therefore, WE ARE ALL ungrateful and deserve a lump of coal or Kia Rio.
Guys hold a 1967-68 fastback up to the 2015, it's almost the same style.
I'm also 50/50, but the grill looks to be wide and the back needs changed maybe more flatter, also needs the mustang side vent indent. Then it would bring it back to the mustang roots with new age thinking. interior is like my 66 2+2 was only newer.

You know...
At first I didn't like the '11 make over. Then, I came around and love the front end.
At first I couldn't stand the black taillights on the '13s and now I kinda want them.
I did NOT like the '15 at first glance... nor 7th glance. But now, yeah I like it. It sure is pretty!
It's not screaming Mustang anymore, but we knew that was coming.
This is a sports car, not a Muscle car. -and that's okay. The '11s started making the transition and the '15 has completed it.

All that being said, It is the future of the Mustang. I think it'll be nice because, all though it is different, it's leaps (again) ahead of Mopar and GM. It sets the bar, again. I am curious to see it in person though...

Those MotorTrend pics make it look Gorgeous!

However, I am keeping my Boss. lol

Yea, I would keep the Boss. I like the new 2015 Mustang, but I also like my 2014 GT500. I will always like my GT500 because I liked the whole package when I first heard about it. I will keep my GT500 and see if I can find a way to buy a 2015 Mustang GT. The interior and competition orange option make me want it.

The only thing they could have done to improve this car, was dump the silly sequential tail lights, the oversized steering wheel, and the goofy GT/5.0 badges. It's not 1964, or 1987 anymore. Time to get with the program and dump the things that still hold this car back from being taken seriously by high end enthusiasts. It's hard enough on Ford to have to build a car that must span the price gamut from 20k to 60k. Imagine what they could do if they dumped the under 35k crowd.
Imagine how much of a customer base if they dumped the under 35k crowd. The mustang isnt meant to be a high end sports car. Never has and never will. I was built with the purpose of affordable individuality accessible by anyone with a decent income. This has been the heart of the Mustang formula and i think Ford has a great platform here. Not only will it shine here, but overseas as well. Im really looking forward to the next few years to see what Ford can really bring out. Especially the SVT/Shelby model

You are exactly right about it always being meant for the average family. It has shined in that category for so long! (hec, it fits me perfectly)
For those of us who either don't want to spend a fortune or can't, it fills in. The average working man's sports car.

I do really like the C&D headlamps.........A LOT. However, the 3 DRLs are a stroke of genius. The 2013/14 DRLs took their inspiration from the "air intakes" from the '70 model..............'15 goes back to honor '65 (and '05!)

My impressions are as follows. Ford very very well done with the exception of two things that would make the design flow together better, all in my own personal taste and opinion of course. Those lower fog light areas are way to dominating of the front view of the car. It appears as if the openings for the fogs are larger than the headlights and takes away from the better looking headlight area. The foglight area just does not flow with the rest of the nose. Its way to big and looks way to disruptive. It has different angles that make them to busy looking relative to the angles and smooth shapes of the rest of the nose. The second thing would be the black plastic around the bottom of the car again and the tail pipes seem to get lost in it. Overall the more I look at it the more I like It and the more I don't like the fogs. Folks the best pics I have found are at Fords website!!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the radio antenna isn't sticking out anywhere.

Windshield or satellite antenna integration?

Maybe they hid it in the roof wart.

Maybe the wart is only with sat radio option. Which brings us back to the windshield?
