Should You Warm up Your Mustang's Engine?



When it's cold outside, you know you should warm up your engine, because it's the right thing to do. But is it?

Read in a car magazine many years ago that it's only necessary to establish you have oil pressure before driving.

I start mine and go, but I monitor oil and transmission temps and wait until they are in the normal rangebefore I get on it hard.

^ What Spectre said. I have the performance package so the oil pressure gauge is right there at top center dash, and it can take a long while for the oil to warm up and the pressure to go down to midrange. Just keep a light foot on the gas until it's ready to run.
