...kinda smart on their part to get to their neighborhood and have that warm welcome and protection, given LAPD's seeming penchant to beat up people that do this stuff.

Yeah, because you know, dickbags who steal cars, endanger the lives of everyone on the road around them and generally act like subhuman trash should be handled with the kid gloves.

Oh, I don't exactly disagree.
But still, thought it was somewhat brainy, given the douchery goin' on.
What I don't get is the warm welcome bit. Those people should have been beating upon them, especially their mommas. I know my kid would get an asswhuppin' if they'd done that then came home.

I'm sure Bernie Sanders and Hillary would still have some problem with the way law enforcement handled it. Besides, why is the police picking on those black kids? Why can't the police pick on some white kids? Did they have to lock up more black people?

Ummm... no. Hillary would probably call them all superpredators (even the bystanders) and pass laws to ensure they all get mandatory life sentences in one of her prison lobbyists' corporate owned and controlled private prisons. And then the Clinton foundation will miraculously receive more "donations" from the owners of the prisons.

On top of that leave it up to the integrity of our local news stations to turn everything into a race issue. Treat the criminals like any other criminal in that instance.
