I Got a Ride in One Of These as a Teen. It Had Just Been Restored with R-Model Upgrades and The Car Had Been Acid Dipped. The Owner Was a Madman and Took me for a Wild Ride Around Town! I Can Still Remember How The Car Literally Breathed and Resonated with the Engine Due To Lack of Sound Deadener and a Built to the Hilt 289. The Guy Always Had the Best Mustangs and was a Brilliant Mechanic! However Come To Find Out Later He was Getting Cars & Parts Through Midnite Auto Supply. He Has Been Locked Up Since The Mid 80's I Believe! Somehow he Still Followed Mustangs From Prison and I Got A Call From Him Once During The Clevenger Days! He Knew I Had a Shelby Somehow and Wanted to Chat!
