I have Posted The First Picture A Few Times Here on TMS But I Just Ran Across The Rest of My Pics & Thought I Would Share. This Was My Daily Transportation I got Right Before Going to Glendale Arizona to Attend Arizona Automotive Institute in 1981-1982. A Long Hot Drive in My 390 4 Speed Equipped Mustang with No A/C! Arizona was Hot and The Legal Drinking age was 19. I Was a Wildman Back then & Fortunate to Make it through the Duration! They Had Bars The Size of a Walmart! Mr. Luckys Comes To Mind! Anyhoo Here Are The Pics! I Had The Car Probably Till Late 1983 When A Guy Kept Pestering Me To Sell it To him For The Then High Price of $3200.00
At The Girlfriends House! 1. In Front of Az. Apartment 2. Local Car Show in Az. 3. Apartment Shot 4. Reststop on way toAz. 5. Parked at School. 6. Rest Stop. That's it For The 68 GT/CS

Man That Car Looks Pretty **** Special Now! Love To Have That One Back and Be Able To Wear Those Size Pants Again! Still Have The Jean Coat. It Was My Grandfathers! Miss that Hair Too! All That Survived was the Moustache !
Scrap Ticket From The Past And What Must Be Engine Shot When I First Got Car as I Always Had The Engines in My Cars Absolutely Clean.
So cool!!! Man, we sure were the lean mean machines back then. I'm talking us, not the cars.
I was with ya on the a/c. I had a/c in my Plymouth back then but never used it, even during the hot summer months in Florida. Now I can't imagine being without it and I don't even live in FL anymore.
Car was From California as Far as I Know & Yes it Was Nugget Gold Interior. I Remember Cause The Drivers Seat Needed Work & At The time No Material was Available. It Was the Woodgrain Dash and it Has Been a Lot of Years. Last I Know was it Was in Visalia Ca. It Was Repainted After Those Pictures To Original Color. It Did Also Have Some Odd Traction Bars on it Which Were Not Your Slapper Type Bars Which Were Common Then. Probably Not a Lot of Nugget Gold Interior 390 4v 4 Speed GT/CS's Made. It Had Smog Tube Heads I Remember. I Think it Was an Open Diff 3.00 Gear. The More I think About it The More I Remember.
Why The {Special Interest??}
Ha Ha!

Since You Like The GT/CS You Might Find This Interesting!
@05stangkc When you say it was repainted to the Original color would that be Sunlit Gold?
Being you state that it had SMOG heads that would be correct for a 390 - 4 speed car. I see in your picture that the smog was removed. I would think the rear end would be a 3.25. That was most common on 390 4 speed GT cars.
I believe there is a 390 Auto and AC just like this for sale. But I do not have all the information on it not sure if it is a X Code 390 2B or S Code 390 4B.

I Could Be Off on the Gears. Yes I Believe it Was Sunlit Gold. I'm Like an Old Car With a Bad Choke in Cold Weather. I got to Warm Up and The Information Starts To Come Back To Me. I did a Lot of Buying & Selling of Muscle Type Cars When I Was a Teen! Man They Were Cheap & Fun to Play With. Not So Cheap Anymore.
Sounds Like a Nice Car! Love to See Some Pics! You Are Invited to Post Here or Start your Own New Thread in Introductions. Love to Hear Your Mustang Story!
